Intermediate Child Protection (ICP) Training Course
Learning Outcomes - at the end of the course participants will:
· Be able to perform within an anti-discriminatory framework that takes into account a child and its family race, gender, community, culture, religion, language or any disability or learning difficulty.
· Recognise the importance of good communications between agencies and determine relevant information to be passed on in line with current legislation.
· Explain the effects of abuse (physical, neglect, sexual and emotional) and perform in accordance with Local Safeguarding Children Boards procedures.
· Summarise the law pertaining to children in need and in need of protection.
· Explain the purpose and role of the case conference, presenting information and contributing to assessments.
· Participate effectively in the case conference, presenting information and contributing to assessments.
· Explain the purpose and role of core groups in supporting children and their carers, and the need for effective written agreements.
Who Should Attend?
Anyone who has already received basic child protection training and would like a more in-depth knowlege of the subject.
