Understanding Schemas in Promoting Children's Learning

This two day course will build on and extend practitioners' knowledge of schemas. Practitioners will relate their knowledge to the children in their own setting and identify ways in which schema knowledge can be used to promote the children's learning. As part of the course, participants will develop observational, reflective and evaluative skills. They will also develop a short action research project identifying schemas in the children attending their own setting. The knowledge gained through this project will be shared with other practitioners during the second day of the course.
